What room types does the hotel have?
The hotel has 3 room types:

  • Superior room for max. 2 persons
  • Privilege room for max. 2 persons
  • Family room for max. 2 adults and 2 children (< 16 years) with 1 double bed and 1 bunk bed

From what time can we enter the room on the check-in day?
You can check in from 15:00. Have you arrived earlier? You can already register at the hotel.

What facilities are there in the room?

Single room: minibar (empty), individual air conditioning, flat screen TV, coffee and tea making facilities, free Wifi, safe (free) and 1 bottle of water (free)

Superior room: minibar (empty), individual air conditioning, flat screen TV, coffee and tea making facilities, free Wifi, safe (free) and 2 bottles of water (free)

Privilege room: free stocked minibar, individual air conditioning, flat screen TV, Nespresso coffee machine, BOSE surround system, free Wifi, safe (free), Molton Brown products in the bathroom, bathrobes and slippers

Is it possible to put a cot in the room?
We can set up a baby cot (0 - 3 years) in the room free of charge. Please request in advance!

Are disabled rooms available?
Mercure Blankenberge has a limited number of rooms for the disabled, which you can request in advance.

Do you also have connecting rooms?
There are no connecting rooms in the hotel but if possible we can provide 2 rooms next to each other (this is always on request and according to availability).

Are the rooms cleaned daily?
The rooms are cleaned daily by our cleaning staff, unless you hang the ‘Do Not Disturb’ tag on the door.

Are there any rooms with a sea view?
Our rooms do not have a sea view, but they do have a nice view of the Koning Leopold III-square or the railway station.

Is smoking allowed in the room?
The hotel is completely non-smoking and smoking in the rooms is therefore prohibited. If you smoke in the room, we are obliged to charge a fee of €500.

Can I order room service at your hotel?
We offer room service in the room for breakfast with a supplement of €10.00. The room service forms are in the room and must be hung on the door by 04:00 in the morning.

Is there free Wifi available at the hotel?
Free Wifi is available throughout the hotel. The reception will be happy to help you if there are any problems connecting.

Does the hotel have a restaurant?
The hotel does not have its own restaurant, but does serve snacks at the bar between 18:00 and 20:00. There are also plenty of tasty take-away options or restaurants nearby to enjoy a delicious meal.

What are the opening hours of the pool?
Our rooftop pool is accessible every day between mid-May and mid-October from 09:00 to 19:00, depending on weather conditions.

Is the outdoor pool heated?
Our outdoor pool is heated and has an average temperature of 28° C.

In what period is the outdoor pool open?
The swimming pool is open from mid-May to mid-October, depending on weather conditions. If a beautiful spring or autumn is approaching, the opening period can be brought forward or delayed!

Is there a towel service for the pool?
We are happy to provide you with bath towels after an invigorating splash in our swimming pool. These are available free of charge in the changing room.

Do you also provide packed lunches?
We offer packed lunches in two formulas. You can book these the night before at the reception.

  • Basic package at €10.00
  • Extensive package at €15.00

What are the opening hours of the bar?
In our spacious lounge bar we serve delicious cocktails, local beers and have an extensive wine list. The bar is open every day for our hotel guests (subject to the corona measures in force at the time):

  • Sunday - Thursday: 07:00 - 00:00
  • Friday - Saturday: 07:00 - 01:00

Breakfast

Can I order room service at your hotel?
We offer room service in the room for breakfast with a supplement of €10.00. The room service forms are in the room and must be hung on the door by 04:00 in the morning.

What time can I come for breakfast?
You can enjoy an extensive breakfast buffet with us every day (subject to the corona measures in force at the time):

  • Monday to Friday: 06.30 – 10.30
  • Saturday and Sunday: 06.30 – 11.00

How much does breakfast cost?
Breakfast costs €22.00 per person and is served in the form of a buffet. Children up to the age of 10 pay €11.00 and small children up to the age of 3 eat breakfast for free.

What does breakfast consist of?
We offer a full breakfast with bacon, scrambled eggs, doughnuts, cécemel, various sandwiches, strawberry cake, crab salad...

Can you also get a grab-and-go breakfast?
You're not very hungry, or you have to get to an appointment on time? We are happy to offer you a 'Grab and go' breakfast! For the price of €12.00 p.p. you can enjoy a basic breakfast in the morning, which is packed and ready for you by our breakfast staff!

Sustainability

What initiatives are we taking to make our business more sustainable?

  • Back office: We are putting more effort into digitalisation, which means less paper consumption.
  • Gagdets: Our gadgets for goodie bags and welcome gifts are carefully chosen with consideration for the environment and sustainability. Examples are reusable drinking bottles, cotton bags, etc.
  • Hotel:
    • Plastic cups in the bathroom are replaced by glasses
    • The use of plastic is avoided in the breakfast buffet
    • Printouts are avoided to the maximum
    • A minimum of single-use packaging is used
    • Waste disposal on 4 levels (paper/cardboard, PMD, glass, residual waste)
    • Avoid portioned items as much as possible (e.g. separately wrapped chocolate)

Where is the hotel located?
Mercure Blankenberge is located in the renovated station complex of Blankenberge, which is ideal for those who want to come by public transport. The hotel is located in the centre of this lively seaside resort within walking distance of the beach.

Are there places to eat nearby?
Thanks to the central location of Mercure Blankenberge, there are dozens of restaurants within walking distance of the hotel. From a tasty bistro to take-aways and culinary delights. Catering for all tastes!

Is the hotel easily accessible?
As the hotel is located in the renovated station complex of Blankenberge, it is very easy to reach by public transport, but there is also a good connection to the motorway by car.

Where is the nearest supermarket?
The nearest supermarket (Delhaize) is located in the main shopping street (Kerkstraat) of Blankenberge, barely 200 m from the hotel.

What tourist activities are there near the hotel?

The Mercure Blankenberge Hotel is centrally located in the seaside town. Therefore, all sights and tourist spots are within walking distance!

  • Beach: 500 m
  • Shopping street: 150 m
  • Restaurants: 100 m
  • Pub/bar: 100 m
  • SeaLife: 1 km
  • Belle Epoque Centre: 550 m
  • Majutte's cottage: 700 m

Can I park at the hotel?
The hotel itself does not have a car park, but right next to the hotel you will find the public car park 'Centrum' where you can easily park your car.

What is the price of parking at the hotel?
The cost of parking your car in the public car park 'Centrum' varies between €15.00 and €25.00 per day, depending on whether it is the low or high season

Can I book parking at the hotel?
As we do not operate the car park ourselves, we cannot reserve a parking space for you.

Where do I find charging points for electric cars?
The nearest charging point is located just across from the hotel, on Koning Leopold III Plein. You will also find them in Monseigneur Waffelaertlaan and Marie-Josélaan. 

Payment

From what age do children have to pay?
At Mercure Blankenberge, we love children and this is reflected in our prices, because children sleep for free with us! Below is a further overview per age category:

  • Children < 16 years old sleep for free in a family room if their parents are paying.
  • Baby < 3 years stay with us free of charge and we can also provide a baby cot in the room (on request)

What are the payment options in the hotel?
We accept the following means of payment.

  • Cash
  • VISA
  • MasterCard
  • Maestro
  • American Express

Can I also make a reservation if I do not have a credit card?
You don't have a credit card? No problem! On our own website you can also pay with a debit card (bancontact). Don't have a bank card? Do not hesitate to contact us by phone (050 60 00 00), because depending on the period, you can also book without guarantee. Reservations without guarantees are subject to strict conditions. The hotel may unilaterally cancel reservations without guarantee after 14:00 on the day of arrival.

How much is the city tax?
The city of Blankenberge has introduced a tourist tax for all guests who stay overnight in the seaside resort. This amounts to €2.50 per night from the age of 18.

Can I get an invoice?
We will be happy to prepare an invoice for you. An important condition is that the reservation is made directly with the hotel, without an intermediary. You can already send the company details to our e-mail address H9547@accor.com or put them as a remark in the reservation.

Can I book a stay with a Bongo voucher?
Hotel Mercure Blankenberge has numerous partners, including Bongo. If you wish to make a reservation via a partner, this must be done via the partner's website. Direct reservations from partners will always be refused.

I have a gift voucher from Mercure Blankenberge. How can I book my stay?
How nice that you received a gift voucher of Mercure Blankenberge! Want to redeem your gift voucher? Send an email or contact us by phone (050 60 00 00) to book your stay.

Can I cancel my stay free of charge?
Depending on your booking, we have different sales conditions. Depending on the 'sales conditions' stated on your confirmation and/or confirmation, you can cancel free of charge. If you are not sure, do not hesitate to contact us at H9547@accor.com or via 050 60 00 00.

Practical details

From what time can I check in?
We are happy to welcome you from 15:00. Are you a bit early? Do not hesitate to register at the reception. You can leave all your luggage there for safekeeping.

Can I check in online?
Did you book via the ALL application or via accorhotels.com? Then you can check in online in advance, but this is certainly not compulsory!

Can I leave my luggage if I arrive early?
Are you checking in a little earlier than 15:00? Do not hesitate to sign in at the reception desk, where you can also leave your luggage.

What time do I have to check out?
At Mercure Blankenberge you can sleep late in the morning before going home again, because the room is yours until noon!
Do you want to stay a bit longer and are you an ALL member? Then you can stay in your room free of charge until 14:00 (subject to availability). Not an ALL member? No problem, also then you can stay a bit longer on the day of departure. H

What is the minimum age to book a stay with you?
The minimum age in Belgium to rent a hotel room is 18.

Are pets allowed?
We are happy to welcome your four-legged friend in the hotel. The supplement for your dog is €25.00 per day.

Can I park at the hotel?
The hotel itself does not have a car park, but right next to the hotel you will find the public car park 'Centrum' where you can easily park your car.

What is the price of parking at the hotel?
The cost of parking your car in the public car park 'Centrum' varies between €15.00 and €25.00 per day, depending on whether it is the low or high season

Are there charging facilities for electric cars?
Unfortunately, there are no charging stations in the vicinity of the hotel for the time being.

Can I store my bicycles safely at the hotel?
Getting a breath of fresh air by the sea is so much more fun by bike! The hotel itself does not have a bicycle shed, but next to the hotel there is a public bicycle shed at the station with camera surveillance (free of charge). There are also numerous bicycle rental facilities on the beach.

What should I do if I have forgotten something after my stay at the hotel?
If you have forgotten something at the hotel, you can always contact us by telephone (050 60 00 00) or via mail so we can agree on how the forgotten item will be returned to you.

Can I book the same room again for my next stay?
Do you have a preference for a room? No problem, we will always try to assign it to you in the future! (according to availability)

I want to come as a group and need more than 10 rooms, is there a special rate?
We would be happy to discuss rates for group applications with you in person, tailored to your specific requirements. For all requests regarding groups, please send an email to H9547-RE@accor.com.

Are there conference facilities in the hotel?
The hotel has 2 modern meeting rooms equipped with all necessary facilities, such as natural daylight, air conditioning, video equipment and a beamer. The maximum capacity is 60 persons.
